Healing From Trauma with EMDR

Research has shown that EMDR therapy works well for treating PTSD, complex PTSD (Trauma over time), and other psychiatric conditions like depression, anxiety, and phobias. Studies over time and across the globes back this up. EMDR helps reduce negative thoughts, feelings, and the physical pain that comes with traumatic memories, plus it helps people cope better. It helps people process their traumatic memories more thoroughly, so they don’t feel so overwhelmed or keep reliving those moments.

The actual therapy sessions can take less than an hour or might require a few sessions, depending on how long it takes to process everything. After therapy, people keep using the skills they’ve learned, even after the sessions are over, so they can better handle their symptoms on their own.
